RKM Racing installs Spirion software to protect IndyCar engineering performance data
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (PRWEB), March 12, 2020 — Spirion, a pioneer in building solutions that enable companies around the globe to take the critical first step towards data security and privacy, today announced the sponsorship of Robert Megennis’ No. 27 car for 14 races during Andretti Autosport’s 2020 IndyCar and Indy Lights season. In partnership, Spirion will also install its data privacy software on RKM Racing team computers to protect critical driver, car, and race performance engineering data, both on and off the track.
Megennis’ Indy Lights Car, known as the #27 Cybersecurity Dallara, will feature Spirion’s “Poochy” mascot as the Indy Lights season roars to a start on the streets of downtown St. Petersburg, March 14-15, in the 2020 Firestone Grand Prix, a 1.8-mile, 14-turn circuit. Spirion is sponsoring RKM racing, one of seven Andretti Autosports teams, for the entire 2020 Indy Lights race season, including St. Petersburg, Atlanta, Austin, Indianapolis, Chicago/Milwaukee, Toronto, Columbus/Cleveland, St.Louis, Portland/Seattle, and San Francisco.
“We are proud to welcome Spirion as a sponsor and technology partner,” said Gary Megennis, Partner of RKM Racing. “In today’s sophisticated data-driven racing industry, winning comes down to both engineering and driving. The team at Spirion protects the privacy of employee, sponsor, fan, and engineering data that are at the heart of every successful season. Spirion has the proven technology and expertise to protect what matters most to RKM Racing.”
“The datafication of racing helps Andretti Autosport and RKM Racing measure, analyze and improve race performance like never before,” said Kevin Coppins, President and CEO of Spirion. “RKM Racing is a business that sponsors, suppliers, employees, and fans entrust with their private data. Spirion secures RKM Racing’s sensitive data so they can focus less on IT and more on taking the checkered flag.
