Spirion Launches Series of Virtual Events in Support of Data Privacy Day
Week-long events underscore the need for organizations to protect personal data as an essential step in their digital transformation
ST. PETERSBURG, FL, January 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Spirion, a pioneer in data protection and compliance, today announced that it will host a series of virtual events in support of #DataPrivacyDay.
Spirion is a Data Privacy Day 2021 Champion as recognized by the National Cyber Security Alliance, an international effort held annually on January 28 to create awareness about the importance of respecting privacy, safeguarding data, and enabling trust.
The event series stresses the need for organizations to protect what matters most: the personal data privacy of colleagues, customers, and communities as an essential part of their digital transformation. With a vast majority of Americans (85%) feeling anxiety over data privacy and that businesses should do much more to actively protect their personal data, proactively safeguarding consumer data may offer a distinct competitive advantage.*
Spirion’s week-long series of events in support of Data Privacy Day include the following:
January 26 Tech Showcase: “Enabling End to End Data Security & Privacy: Spirion and Microsoft AIP/MIP” will be held on Tuesday, January 26, at 11:00 AM ET. This 30-minute tech- talk will demonstrate how Spirion’s classifications and labeling complement Microsoft AIP and MIP by enriching the layer of data security and privacy protection that they address with more options and business context. Spirion also goes beyond what AIP and MIP do not secure—including file servers, clouds, other databases, and workstations.
January 27 Twitter Q&A: #AskSpirion live TweetChat will be held on Wednesday, January 27, from 11:00 AM ET to 1:00 PM ET. Data Privacy Day inspires conversations that encourage businesses to respect privacy and individuals to own their privacy. IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy and data privacy attorney, Scott Giordano, joins Aaron Stine from Spirion to answer your most important data privacy questions. Ask questions using the #AskSpirion hashtag before and during the event for live answers from the experts.
January 28 SecureWorld Briefing Panel: “Customer Data Privacy 2021: It’s No Longer Just Business, It’s Personal” will be held on Thursday, January 28, at 4:00 PM ET. Leading data privacy experts including Jen Mailander, Deputy General Counsel of Fannie Mae; Robert Eckman, CISO at Kent State University; Rebecca Herold, the Privacy Professor; and Jason Hodgert of Spirion will address the most pressing topics in data protection for 2021, and why it’s time to shed the Godfather modus operandi of “it’s not personal, it’s strictly business” when it comes to protecting personal data. For today’s consumers whose data privacy is under increasing assault, it is now very personal.
