Spirion Joins Microsoft Intelligent Security Association
Extends Data Privacy and Security Perimeter for Microsoft Customers; Brings Platform-Agnostic, Enterprise-Grade Privacy Protection to Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) Environments
ST. PETERSBURG, FL, March 09, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Spirion, a pioneer in data protection and compliance, today announced its membership in the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA). MISA is an ecosystem of independent software vendors and managed security service providers that have integrated their solutions with Microsoft to better defend against a world of increasing threats.
The integration of its platform with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) provides enterprises end-to-end, multi-platform data security and privacy protection. Spirion’s integration is available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.
For enterprises using MIP, the addition of Spirion will reduce risk exposure and strengthen compliance through enhanced discovery, classification, and remediation of sensitive information found enterprise-wide, both inside and outside of Microsoft environments. This includes support for multiple file formats, operating systems, and cloud deployments, along with easy integration with third-party databases and repositories via APIs for greater visibility and agility.
Spirion goes beyond simply securing data from unauthorized access at the perimeter by accurately identifying and classifying sensitive, private, and regulated data where it lives—at the database and individual data record level—so it can be stored, protected, and used in the safest, most compliant means possible.
“Today’s enterprises feature complex IT landscapes that spread sensitive and personal information beyond their primary environments, leading security professionals to look at new, holistic methods of information protection that reach beyond vendor-specific capabilities,” said Tom Palomaki, Chief Customer Officer at Spirion. “Spirion extends the security perimeter for Microsoft customers with platform-agnostic, enterprise-grade data discovery, classification, and remediation capabilities that enable them to better preserve both the privacy and the security of data in support of regulatory compliance, corporate policies, and customer expectations.”
“The Microsoft Intelligent Security Association’s vibrant security ecosystem is valuable to our shared customers because it reduces the cost and complexity of integrating disparate security tools,” stated Rani Lofstrom, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Security. “Combining Microsoft’s native information protection tools with expansive third-party platforms, like Spirion, provides customers with end-to-end coverage across their data estate to keep sensitive data secure to address privacy and compliance.”
