COVID-19: Our Response.
Facilitating a ‘privacy-first’ environment by identifying sensitive data for remote workers and enterprises
COVID-19’s global impact is forcing change upon organizations to mobilize their work-forces. To help support these unexpected changes Spirion is offering no-cost resources to help both remote employees and enterprises implement a ‘privacy-first’ work environment in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Amid heightened COVID-19 concerns, millions of people are moving to a pervasive ‘work, study, and teach from home’ policy with many individuals working on their private computers. On March 13, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the risk advisor to the United States, issued an alert encouraging “organizations to adopt a heightened state of cybersecurity” when implementing work from home alternatives for employees, as they introduce increased cyber-vulnerabilities.
“These are unprecedented times: never have workers left a traditional office setting to work from home this quickly, at this scale, or with this little pre-planning. IT teams have been working around the clock to ensure business operations continue as securely as possible,” said Kevin Coppins, Spirion President and CEO. “Spirion was founded to protect personal data, and at no time in our company’s history has it become more vulnerable and more targeted than it is right now. The sensitive data threat surface for almost every organization, public or private, has grown exponentially in just the past ten days as dedicated workers do their jobs from home. Our team is committed to working alongside any organization that is concerned with protecting sensitive data that belongs to its customers, employees, partners, and communities.”

No-Cost Sensitive Data Manager 60-Day License
Spirion is offering organizations a 60-day no-cost license for its Sensitive Data Manager software to search remote workforce computers for sensitive data. The program includes a limited version of console server software and agent software for searching Windows 7 and Windows 10 endpoint devices. The customer will install console server software in their data center behind its firewall and VPN gateway. The company will also include up to four hours of professional services to install, configure, and fine-tune the system and setup reports.
No-Cost Data Discovery Agent for Remote Workers
Spirion is also providing a no-cost download of its Data Discovery Agent to help remote workers discover the sensitive information that lives on their computer. The agent will search and find personally identifiable information such as social security, credit card, bank account, driver’s license numbers, and passwords. It will display the type and location of discovered sensitive data so remote workers can take measures to secure their personal information. Currently, the no-cost Data Discovery Agent is only available for Windows.
